Location

Part of the lesser Himalayan mountains in Himachal Pradesh, India

- Begins near Dalhousie, passes through Kangra Valley, and merges with the Pir Panjal range near Manali

Ranges from 3,500 m to 6,000 m above sea level

- Highest peak: Hanuman Tibba, at 5,982 meters (19,626 ft)

- Other notable peaks: Mun (4610 m), Manimahesh Kailash (5653 m), Gauri Junda (4946 m)

- Composed of granite, with slate, limestone, and sandstone formations

- Steep incline, making trekking and mountaineering challenging
